She has been passionately working to ensure equal and safe public space for this section of society.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalvillagespace.com\/author\/rida-hussain\/\">News Desk<\/a> -February 13, 2020\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.globalvillagespace.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/First-female-transgender-officially-represent-Pakistan-at-UN-CEDAW01.jpg\" alt=\"transgender\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Aisha Mughal<\/strong> <\/em>has become the first female transgender to officially represent Pakistan at a United Nations Forum. She is part of the National Delegation at the United Nations\u2019 Convention to end all forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gulfnews.com\/world\/asia\/pakistan\/winds-of-change-for-pakistan-transgender-community-1.66699525\">Ministry of Human Rights<\/a> shared her picture with the delegation in Geneva, Switzerland on its Twitter account. She has been passionately working to ensure equal and safe public space for this section of society.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She was also present at the workshop held recently in Islamabad to present the draft guidelines for police engagement with transgender persons to the representatives of the police department.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalvillagespace.com\/?bsa_pro_id=87&amp;bsa_pro_url=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalvillagespace.com\/?bsa_pro_id=84&amp;bsa_pro_url=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalvillagespace.com\/?bsa_pro_id=83&amp;bsa_pro_url=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aisha Mughal hailed the steps taken by the Ministry of Human Rights. \u201cKeeping in line with international best practices, these guidelines chart out the appropriate treatment of transgender persons who encounter police officials,\u201d she said while addressing the workshop.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aisha has M.Phil in Human Resource Management from COMSATS Islamabad. She is the first transgender in the visiting faculty at Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad- one of the highly reputed academic institutions in Pakistan.
